Macomb County Drunk Driving

Macomb County runs the gambit in terms of how judges treat drunk driving cases. Generally, there is a low likelihood of incarceration on a first offense. There are a few judges that qualify as excellent judges, and there are a couple judges that treat defendants unfairly and harshly.
The prosecuting attorneys in Macomb County expect motorists charged with OWI to accept a plea to the lesser included offense of impaired, which is generally offered. Occasionally, when a motorist challenges a drunk driving case, the prosecutors appear genuinely confused and perplexed, figuring that they've offered impaired. (So what's the problem?) Nonetheless, Macomb prosecutors will not reduce drunk driving charges to non-alcohol related offenses as a matter of policy.
